When harvesting time is in fill swing Mara needs a reliable and hard-working team of seaweed harvesters. The work follows the big tides which occur at a new and full moon – generally 8 days consecutive days. The way you pick depends on the species from nibble handed scissor cutting along the rocks to wading through the shallows with a knife. Payment is per wet kilo of seaweed, prices vary with species. A good harvester can make £40 in a four hour tide
