This tea is a great winter warmer and will help you fight off that dreaded seasonal cough! It is simply zinging with anti-oxidants. You can add more citrus if you think it needs it. This could even be hot initially and you could add a teaspoon of honey. Go on, look after yourself?
1-2 litres of cold water
1-4 tsp of loose leaf (or 1-2 teabags of) green or white tea
1-4 tsp of Kombu
Optional flavours: free ginger, galagal root, cinnamon, lemon or lime slices, cloves, cardamoms, liquorice.
Prepare tea 2-5 hrs in advanceAdd 2-4 bags of green tea and Kombu, with the flavours of your choice to a 1-3 litre jug of cold water (or boiling if you want to start off with a hot brew). Let it steep for a few hours until a good colour has developed. This may take a few hours.
Be prepared to experiment with the flavour until you satisfy your taste. Start with a more dilute preparation until accustomed to flavour and then make the drink more concentrated for greater health benefits.
