It's that time of year again...office Christmas parties and meeting friends for drinks can leave us feeling rather worse for wear. The Mara Mary is our take on the traditional bloody Mary with added kombu for the ultimate kick of nutrients and umami flavour. If this doesn't set you straight then you should probably just go back to bed :-)
Kombu and Tomato are a winning combination containing a good amount of the essential minerals: iodine, calcium, potassium and magnesium.
Makes 2 glasses.
400 ml Tomato juice
Juice of half a Lemon tsp
1 tsp Kombu
Ground Black Pepper
Splash of Tobasco (to taste)
2 Celery sticks
Add a couple of shots of vodka if you are feeling brave!
Mix all the ingredients together with some ice cubes, add a celery stick to each glass to finish. If you are missing all the festive parties then glam up your tomato juice by wetting the rim of the glass and dipping it into a mix of Kombu and celery salt for a cocktail look.
