Founder branded a "nutcase"

A fun piece in the Daily Mail Online today tells of how Mara's "SeaEO" Fiona Houston was branded a "nutcase" by friends when setting up the company. But now that Mara is selling its pure hand-harvested Dulse flakes to Marks & Spencer, Fiona's having the last laugh.

Even Paul Hollywood is a fan

The article discusses the origins of the company and how to use seaweed. Fiona explains, "it's delicious on your fish, pizza, pasta and is beautiful sprinkled on your chips."

Fiona and co-founder Xa Milne spotted a gap in the food market for superfood seaweed, which is now part of a multi-billion pound industry worldwide. 

Although everyone initially felt the idea was quirky, now seaweed is seen as something really healthy you can have on your table every day. Even Paul Hollywood is a fan.
