#Wildyear

Wilderness challenge
"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike." - John Muir
Fancy camping in the Scottish wilderness for a whole year, regardless of the weather? Us neither! For one lady though this is precisely the challenge that she has set herself. For 365 nights, Cerys Trayner will be camping in Scotland's most extreme wilderness.
Securing Scotland's wild spaces
The money Cerys raises will be split between the John Muir Trust and the Scottish Wildlife Trust, two charities that help to ensure Scotland's wild spaces are kept that way.
Her challenge really struck a chord with Team Mara, so to show our support 10% of every purchase made using #wildyear will be split between the John Muir Trust and the Scottish Wildlife Trust.
Over half way there
So far, so good. Cerys has 142 days to go and is doing well despite our recent spate of rather horrendous storms. Check out her blog to see how she is getting on and to view her wonderful pictures.
"I fervently believe that a healthy natural environment and experiencing ‘wildness’ is vital to our wellbeing and we should strive to maintain its integrity. By supporting the vision of our leading conservation charities, we can safeguard, conserve and restore our wildlife and wild lands for the enjoyment of future generations." - Cerys Trayner
Cerys hopes her story will inspire more people to get out there and enjoy, explore and take care of our beautiful country.
