In its short history Mara Seaweed has won multiple prestigious awards for our products, our business and our entrepreneurial spirit. Here are a few that make us really proud:

 

 

Great Taste 2012-2016

Mara’s seaweeds have won Great Taste Awards every year since 2012. In 2016, our Applewood Smoked Dulse won a coveted three gold stars and was shortlisted for a Golden Fork Award. Read more.

Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards

In 2016, Mara’s Shony flakes were awarded best condiment at Scotland’s food and drink “Oscars.” In 2017, Mara was a finalist in the Healthy Choice and Exporter of the Year categories.

BBC Food and Farming Awards

The Crown Estate’s Scottish Marine Aquaculture Award

In 2014, we were thrilled to win the Crown Estate’s award recognising our commitment to sustainable harvesting and innovation in our industry. Read more.

 

BQ Entrepreneur of the Year

Interface Excellence Award

The Interface award recognised our partnership in 2014 with the Scottish Association for Marine Science and Otter Ferry Seafish, exploring the possibility of developing a sustainable seaweed farm. Read about Project S3eed.

We’ve also appeared on TV and radio. Our products have been used on Saturday Kitchen and we’ve delighted Paul Hollywood on Pies and Puds. We’ve also shown Nick Nairn around the coast on Landward, and featured on Radio 4’s Farming Today, to name a few.
